The life of an event logo is short-lived, spanning only the duration of the event. But if you’re the 2011 NBA All-Star Saturday Night logo, while you only get one star-studded night to shine, you get to live forever on every collectible ticket stub and event program; you get animated and fuel the fanfare on the arena’s Jumbo Tron; and you dazzle millions of home-viewers live on TNT. But perhaps the most exciting part of your existence is being on the surface of the court for the Slam Dunk and Three-Point Shooting Contests, where you provide launching points for superhuman dunkers such as Clippers center Blake Griffin and legendary sharpshooters such as Celtics forward Ray Allen.
HeadRush Creative’s 2011 All-Star Saturday Night logo enjoyed such an existence, as it was the central graphic element of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. And in tinsel-town, home of the world’s hottest stars, being the centerpiece of a signature event is pretty darn cool.
